Paddl’s Impact Accelerator features new series from InnovationAus - ‘See What You Can Be’
The opening day of The Paddl Academy's Impact Accelerator Program featured a new series championing Australia’s extraordinary female change-makers, See What You Can Be, recently launched by InnovationAus.
Watch the first episode below, featuring a discussion between: renewable energy and clean tech investment director and QIC Global Infrastructure consultant Katerina Kimmorley; scientific futurist, drone expert and Australian National University associate professor Dr Catherine Ball; and InnovationAus Publisher, Corrie McLeod, where they discuss their passion to positively change the future and what opportunities lay ahead of future leaders looking to do the same.
The Paddl Impact Accelerator Program and Western National Innovation Games held in May brought together leaders from industry, government, academia and not-for-profit organisations with emerging talent from Australian universities, vocational education and training organisations, and schools to work towards achieving diversity in STEM.
The Impact Accelerator was opened with a keynote address given by the Chief Scientist of Australia, Dr Cathy Foley, followed by a roundtable chaired by Dr Foley where participants explored the role employers can play to champion achieving diversity in STEM.
Throughout the week, participants surfaced the barriers to growing the talent pool in STEM and the lack of female STEM role models.
“We must celebrate women in STEM more, including the many different paths they have taken to get there. We need to be inclusive in the way we share their stories, using the right language and the right mediums to reach the widest and most diverse audience possible.”
Dominique Fisher, CEO Paddl
